Health Grid:-
We have developed the first Health Grid for the rural areas of Mardan, KPK, Pakistan. Visual health information representation is one of the key ingredients for effective health management system. Jaroka Health Grid is a GIS module which allows live Visualization of unstructured data on diseases prevalent on the site , Demographics of patients and proximity map which the outreach of healthcare facilities and assist in analyzing the areas with greater influx of patients. As the patient’s location, aliment and other pertinent information is entered into our system, it is plotted in real-time on Google Maps.
The data is to be shared with the stakeholders, researchers, health ministry and the policy makers so that effective strategies against the diseases can be put into action. Our objective for future is to use the health grid for disease surveillance, reducing maternal and infant mortality rate and tracking outbreak of communicable diseases.
